Copyfold Privacy Policy

Introduction

Copyfold ("the App") is an application developed by Snow Line Software ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what data the App handles and what happens to it.

The short version: the App keeps a history of what you copy, on your Mac only. It collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere.

Information We Collect

No information is collected whatsoever. The App has no account system, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no third-party components. It is distributed without any network capability, so it cannot transmit anything even in principle.

What the App Stores on Your Mac

A clipboard history app has to remember what you copy. The following is stored inside the App's own sandbox container on your computer, and nowhere else:

• The text, images and file locations you copy, together with the name of the app you copied from, when you copied it and how often you used it. For copied files, only their locations are kept, not the files themselves.
• Text recognized in copied images, so they can be found by search. Recognition is done on your Mac by macOS; images are never uploaded.
• Names you give to clips, which clips you pinned, and your settings.

You decide how much is kept: the history size, whether old clips are deleted automatically after a day, a week, a month or three months, and whether the history is cleared when you quit. You can delete single clips or the whole history at any time, and removing the App removes everything it stored.

What the App Does Not Store

• Clips that password managers and other apps mark as concealed or transient.
• Clips that look like secrets: API keys and access tokens, private keys, and card numbers. This can be turned off in Settings.
• Anything copied from apps you have chosen to ignore, or while capture is paused.

Tracking parameters such as utm_source or fbclid are removed from copied links before they are saved. This can be turned off in Settings.

Permissions

Two macOS permissions are optional and used only for the purposes below:

• Accessibility (posting events): if you turn on automatic pasting, the App sends a single Command-V to the app you were using after you choose a clip. It does not read the contents of other apps.
• Input Monitoring: only while a paste stack is running, the App watches for Command-V so it can load the next clip. It does not record or store any keystrokes.

Exporting

If you export your history, the App writes it to a file at a location you choose. What happens to that file afterwards is up to you.

Children

The App collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about our information practices.
